ICEYE, a dynamic and innovative company in the aviation and aerospace industry, is seeking a talented FPGA Intern to join our tight-knit team of experts. As a leading New Space company, ICEYE is building and operating its own commercial constellation of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites, which can take images of Earth at any time – even when it’s cloudy or dark. With SAR data already available to customers, our satellites provide valuable and timely information to help our customers understand the world better and make more intelligent decisions. Responsibilities
- Assist the team in developing FPGA firmware to drive and control ICEYE’s next-generation SAR imaging payloads
- Participate in the development and implementation of complex signal processing algorithms in the FPGA
- Collaborate with software and hardware teams to integrate FPGA into the overall system architecture
- Perform FPGA verification through simulation, emulation, and testing both within the lab and in the field
- Contribute to design documentation, project planning, and review processes
- Maintain and troubleshoot existing FPGA firmware and hardware designs
- Improve code performance and streamline FPGA design processes
- Closely collaborate with engineers on developing FPGA repository automation in verification and build frameworks,
- Develop FPGA code for ICEYE satellites
- Maintain the buildroot framework for generating OS images running on FPGA SoCs.
- Develop shell scripts for Linux running on FPGA SoCs,
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Passion for software development and FPGA engineering
- Prior experience in working with Linux systems (could be in student projects)
- Prior experience with developing code for FPGAs (could be in student projects)
- Keen interest in space technology and the New Space industry
Nice to have:
- Experience with FPGA development using Xilinx tools
- Experience with working with FPGA SoCs running Linux
- Basic understanding of devops practices concerning CI/CD
- Experience in administrating Linux systems
- Linux Kernel knowledge
